Jewelry Care

Depending on the style of earring, there may be different components to care for. Every purchase comes with a jewelry care card that details how to best care for your Studio Toujours pieces, which is a great reference guide for anyone who receives jewelry as a gift.

HOW TO CARE FOR POLYMER CLAY PIECES

The main component of Studio Toujours earrings are made from artist grade polymer clay. This clay is a water-resistant and super light in weight. Although the cured clay is slightly flexible, please remember that these pieces are delicate and should not be purposely bent or dropped to test their strength. If by chance the clay comes in contact with makeup, it can easily be removed by using a damp microfiber cloth and water, or lightly spot treated with rubbing alcohol using a q-tip.

HOW TO CARE FOR RAW BRASS

Raw brass will oxidize over time. This is a natural reaction for brass when exposed to air, water and oils from the skin. This will give the brass pieces a beautiful patina. If you’re not a fan of the look of patina, the raw brass components can be restored with a microfiber jewelry polishing cloth and returned to their original look. If you're looking to bring out extra shine in the raw brass, you can use toothpaste (non-gel types) or a baking soda and lemon juice mixture during the polishing process.

HOW TO STORE THE JEWELRY

Earrings should never be worn to sleep as the polymer clay components can get bent or broken during our dream cycles. Polymer clay pieces should be stored in dry conditions. Every piece of jewelry from Studio Toujours ships in a jewelry box or travel pouch. Both of these are perfect for keeping your jewelry safe on the bedside table.
